Chan Hing Kei Karina finished her degree of Bachelor of Arts in Music at the Chinese University of Hong Kong with first-class honour, she was one of the awardees of the Chung Chi College Admission Scholarship for Outstanding Extra-curricular Performance and the William T.May Memorial Scholarship. During her undergraduate studies, She was studying cello under the tutelage of Mr. Cheung Ming Yuen. She was also learning organ under Dr. Anne Lam. She actively participated in various orchestras in CUHK, she was the cello principal and the cellist of the Chung Chi Student Chinese Orchestra and the Chung Chi Orchestra respectively. 
 
Chan is currently a cellist of the HKYWCA Chinese Orchestra, Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra and the Hong Kong Youth Orchestra. She was also the cello principal of the Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra. She had also participated in masterclasses by Ms Tung Hiu Lo, Mr Perrin Laurent and Dr Joel Smirnoff. She had also participated in different international choral festivals, competitions and music performances.
